1. Attain High academic Achievement and Success
2. Build Positive Relationships
3. Maintain Organizational Effectiveness
Tattnall County Schools provide Gifted services at each school. Students can be referred for the Gifted program in the following ways:
1)A student is referred for consideration by teachers, counselors, administrators, parents/guardians, peers, self or others with knowledge of student’s academic abilities.
2) Students who score at specified levels on nationally norm-referenced tests. The local board of education establishes the score(s) needed for automatic referral.
After a referral has been made a decision-making team from each school uniformly considers information collected on student referrals. The team then decides if it is appropriate to proceed with a formal evaluation. If a formal evaluation is needed the student is referred for Gifted Education Evaluation in Mental Ability, Achievement, Creativity, and Motivation.
To refer a student please contact your local school for further information or the Gifted Coordinator at the TCBOE at 912-557-4726 ext. 1152.
