Dual Enrollment and CTAE

Georgia’s Dual Enrollment program provides funding for high school students to earn both high school credit and college credit while taking college courses through a participating Georgia college or university. The Dual Enrollment program is available to Georgia students in grades 10 – 12 enrolled in a public school, private school, or home-study program in Georgia; however, beginning with Summer term 2020 some restrictions apply to 10^th graders in the 2022-2023 school year.  Dual Enrollment ​is designed to prepare students for college and career opportunities leading students to postsecondary institutions for an industry recognized certification or lic​ensure, an associate and/or higher college ​​​degree, and successful employment. 

Tattnall County High School offers an opportunity for students to obtain college course credit through the Dual Enrollment program. Juniors and Seniors are the suggested demographic of students to take advantage of the Dual Enrollment program; however, Sophomores may participate if readiness is proven by meeting the criteria.

Juniors & Seniors

*A student can participate in the dual enrollment program their Junior or Senior year with the qualifications below:  A student must be in good standing academically and on track to graduate.
*A student must have good attendance.
*A student must understand that disciplinary issues can impact enrollment in dual enrollment.
*A Students must meet the admissions requirement of the college.

Sophomores

10th grade students are allowed to participate in the dual enrollment program and receive high school course credit if each of the following criterion is met.

A student must meet the state required SAT 1200 or ACT 26.
A student must be in good standing academically and on track to graduate.
A student must have good attendance.
A student must understand that disciplinary issues can impact enrollment in dual enrollment. 
A student must meet the admissions requirement of the college.

CTAE courses help students explore potential careers and prepare for life after high school by providing them with learning opportunities to gain technical expertise in a career pathway of their choice.  The Tattnall County School System offers career and technical education programs at Tattnall County High School. These programs are designed to prepare youth for a broad range of employment and further education and are offered under the guidance of certified teachers.
